Well, things here are good. Miss Emery is now 11 days adjusted age (the difference between when she was really supposed to be born) and doing great! She is 5 lbs 15 ozs. Will probably hit the 6 lb. mark tomorrow or the next day! She is doing so great. She had her eye exam again this week and they want to see her back in another month-things looked good.
She eats good, sleeps good and loves to sit in her boppy pillow and her swing and bouncy seat. We are looking forward to her first Christmas!
Please continue to pray for my sister. She need strength and healing. She had another blood clot in her arm this week but they say it should go away on its own. Please pray the God would restore her spirit as well!
Pray for Lukey too as they are testing him for RSV. This year has truly been a rough year for our family, but we are so blessed ten fold as well!
We wish all of you a wonderful family Christmas and pray that 2007 is fantastic for you all!

Homecoming!!

Today was the big day. We brought Emery home today. I think that Michael drove about 40 all the way home. He is so cute with her. He worries that the bumps in the road are going to hurt her! Adorable!
It was a very sad day for us leaving the NICU. After 74 days, the people become your family. Andrea was off today, but came up to say goodbye and wish us well. We are going to miss her most. What a God send she was.
Emery picked the coldest day to come home. It was absolutely freezing, but at least she got to sport her warm fuzzy hat. She is such a diva!
Everything has gone pretty good tonight. We got home about 4pm and got settled in. Since she came home on O2, she has a monitor which keeps up with her breathing and heartbeat. Everything went well with it until one of her leads came looses and it was going off every 3 minutes. I think that I have checked to make sure that she is breathing about 100 times today. It is hard also to not just sit and hold her all night long. But then she may get spoiled.... oh who am I kidding, she already is!
It is so amazing to have her home! To be able to hold her and kiss on her anytime we want. What a wonderful thing, this motherhood!
Hope you enjoy the pictures!!!

My silly mommy dressed me up today in my snow sweater and hat. She is getting me ready for the cold weather that is supposed to blow through!

Lots to update...

Lots has happened this week! Emery is getting ready to go home! She got a new bed in the NICU as you can see from the picture. She got her feeding tube out as you can also see from the picture and she is doing tough love now. Tough love is where they take the feeding tube out and make them take the bottle. If they don't take the whole thing, they at least have to take a certain amount, then they have to get the feeling of hunger and wait a little while to eat. She is doing great with it and has taken all of her bottles so far today!
Emery also hit the 5 lb. mark!!!!! Major accomplishment!
We are getting so anxious to have her home and know that it won't be long and she will be with us.
In other news, Heather had her weight loss surgery today and it went well. I talked to my bro-in-law a little earlier and he said that everything went well. Please pray for her and the next few months as they will be a trying time.
We had a great Thanksgiving. Mom was able to come in and we all went to the hospital and spent the day there. There is nothing like Cafeteria Turkey and gravy... actually it wasn't so bad. Then we went over to J and Jac's for leftovers in the evening of real food! All in all it was a great day! Hope all of yours was blessed!

Thanksgiving with Grandee

I have been having so much fun with my Grandee. She came to visit me for Thanksgiving. Tonight she got to help with my bath! She loved it! Then she held me for a very long time! Look how big I am getting. I am 4 lbs 11 ozs. now. I am going to get to come home very soon!

The nursery is finally done

Finally... All I have left to do is restore/re-do the dresser and knobs, but that will have to wait. I made the lamp and Mary my mother in law covered the glider cushions and made the curtains (thanks Mary!)
All that is missing is Emery! Andrea says that she should be able to come home in about 2 weeks. She is also at a whopping 4lbs 8 ozs. Happy Thanksgiving to all! We all have so much to be thankful for!
