Latest and greatest

Hello. It has been a while... sorry.

We are doing good here. Spring is finally coming around. Won't be long now. Green grass is popping up all around and things are starting to bloom. Love this time of year.

Lets see..... Since I last blogged, Emery has found her hand and her foot. She is so funny. Especially with the foot. She has also learned how to grab onto her toys and hold them. She is sitting upright with help really good too. We are doing a little bit of Physical Therapy on her legs because the muscles are stiff, but that is a characteristic of Preemies. The Dr. did say that she is advanced though in her tracking abilities. She follows us all around with her eyes and up and down.

She is 10lbs 13.5 ozs now and 23 inches long. We went for a check up and she has acid refulx so the Dr. gave us some medication for that.

Grandee is coming to see us next week. We are very excited. Plus there will be an Easter Egg hunt coming soon and Easter church and Em's dedication. We are so blessed by her.

RSV season is soon to be over and we can get out and about and explore the world.

I can't wait to show and teach her all the things around her.

Fishing season is starting up again which has Michael tinkering around with his boat getting it ready. He is going to KY Lake next weekend for a guys fishing trip. I am excited for him to get away and enjoy himself. I have a wonderful husband who deserves that.

I started spring cleaning today and it is a chore. Being home all the time makes you realize how much stuff one has! Time to get rid of some of it. YARD SALE TIME!

Please continue to lift up Michael's uncle in your prayers. The cancer is in his brain now, but we know that our God is much bigger than any cancer or treatment. We went up last week to visit and to take Emery up there to see him and we enjoyed our time together.

Well, I guess that is about it. There is so much coming up on our calendar. We are doing 3 March of Dimes WalkAmerica Walks... Emery is the ambassador child for 2 of them and the other 1 is the UK NICU that she was in... so we will get to see a lot of the nurses that took such great care of her. There is Easter and Grandee coming as I said before and our trip to TX in May! I am going to put Emery in the Baby Contest at the Fair this year! Partly just to show off my little bowhead.. ha ha.

We are extremely blessed and thankful for all that God has done for us this past 6 months. What a might God we serve!

I love my bow head

We have a new friend and she makes hair bows, so mommy had to take several from her stash! Don't I look adorable! I am 10lbs now and getting big. Mommy didn't think the pink dress would fit, but I proved her wrong! Love to all!

Back in the saddle

Well, I have to say, I hate the new Google Blogger. That is why I haven't updated for so long. I forgot my password and it doesnt give you a place to have it sent to you or anything. I finally remembered it so here I am.

We are doing great. Emery came off of her monitor this week, so she is cord free! Sure makes it a lot easier dressing her and now we are not confined to one room. Praise God.

She is such a little bundle of joy. She smiles all the time now and is so active and fun. I love her so much!!!

We had her eye appt. and the retinopothy corrected itself and her eyes got a good bill of health. Isn't God good! That was just what the Dr. was hoping for.

There are 3 people that I know right now who are pregnant and going to be mommies and daddies. I am so excited for them. Trina and Brian I am so very excited! I tried to post a comment to let you know on your blog, but couldnt w/o my password. I cried when I read your blog. I cannot wait for baby to get here! Motherhood is so amazing!

Please continue to pray for my sister that she gets stronger and stronger everyday! She is on the mend and looks great. Check out her blog for pictures. She has lost 60 lbs !!! Amazing!

I am heading up a team for the March of Dimes Walk America to raise money to help fight prematurity. If anyone would like to donate to this wonderful and important cause you can go to: http://www.walkamerica.org/emerysmom

I appreciate any amount. Hopefully one day they will figure out why so many babies are born premature!

Oh, I have been presented with a job opportunity that I am praying about. Please pray with me that I will feel peace about the job if it is the right one and also peace about leaving Emery to go back to work when the time comes.

Grandee babysat while we went tubing with J and Jac. We had a really great time. Thanks again mom for sitting for us.

Heather is on the mend and doing so much better. She is leak free and will hopefully be going home sometime this week. Thanks for the continual prayer for her!

latest and greatest

Please continue to pray for my sister as she is on the mend. She had surgery this week to remove the celitified (sorry on the spelling) fluid that had accumulated and incased her lung. They now say that her lungs are clear and she has said that she can breath so much better. They are waiting to see if the clue procedure that they did last week took or not and if not they are going to put a stint in, but the Dr. feels that it took. She is very very weak and is doing some PT and breathing treatments to get back on her feet again. Pray that she can come home in the next week or 2 as I know that she is missed at home and that she missed them too.

Mom is coming to visit. She will be here on Wed. I am so excited! I can't wait to spend time with her and I know that she is so stoked to see Emery. She can't wait and won't believe how big she is as she hasn't seen her since Thanksgiving.

We went to the doctor today for a checkup and Little E-as uncle J calls her is not so little anymore. She is 8lbs and 20 1/2 inches long. Praise God for his faithfulness!
Everything looked great and she is growing and eating good. Then she got 3 shots. That is so hard as a mother to watch. Necessary-but hard!

Michael and I are going to get to get away on Saturday while mom babysits Em.
We are going snow tubing at www.perfectnorth.com. I haven't decided if I am going to ski or just tube, but either way it is a blast. We went last year and we are going with J and Jac and their boys and Joyce. We are soooo looking forward to it as we havent really done anything together since Emery was born.

NICU Grad Clinic Appt.

Well, we had our appt. with the NICU grad clinic today. It went great. Emery is 7lbs and 19 inches long. She is getting so very big. They said that everything went great. We are working on weaning her off of her O2 so within 3 weeks God willing she will be totally off. We got to increase her feeding and that will make her a much happier camper. Her arms, legs etc. are moving great, her lungs are very clear and when they listened to her it was great. All in all it was a fabulous visit. Praise God.
Please continue to pray for my sister. Hopefully she will be getting out of the hospital within the next 5-6 days. They are going to try a new glue procedure on the hole in her stomach so hopefully it will stick this time. It is $3000 glue, so it should do something!!!!
This makes 26 days that she has been in the hospital after her weight loss surgery on Nov. 29th. She has gotten to come home for a few days here and there and then will have more complications and have to return to Baylor.
Please also pray for Michael's uncle. They removed his lung due to cancer and he is in the hospital still trying to recover and breath regulary again. Pray for his wife and family.
Well, i guess that is all for now. Just thought I would get a quick update in.

Thursday, December 21, 2006

Well, things here are good. Miss Emery is now 11 days adjusted age (the difference between when she was really supposed to be born) and doing great! She is 5 lbs 15 ozs. Will probably hit the 6 lb. mark tomorrow or the next day! She is doing so great. She had her eye exam again this week and they want to see her back in another month-things looked good.
She eats good, sleeps good and loves to sit in her boppy pillow and her swing and bouncy seat. We are looking forward to her first Christmas!
Please continue to pray for my sister. She need strength and healing. She had another blood clot in her arm this week but they say it should go away on its own. Please pray the God would restore her spirit as well!
Pray for Lukey too as they are testing him for RSV. This year has truly been a rough year for our family, but we are so blessed ten fold as well!
We wish all of you a wonderful family Christmas and pray that 2007 is fantastic for you all!

Hook Em Horns

Cousin Lukey sent me his shirt, Uncle Matt sent me the socks and Aunt Heather sent me the pacifier to make up my UT Horns Ensemble! Don't you just love it!
