New Teeth...Daddy's Necklace

Emery has 2 new teeth coming in. They are so cute. She also loves the necklace that Uncle James sent Daddy from Hawaii. All of the warriors wear them when they go into battle. She stole them from Daddy and loves them. Thanks Uncle James again for our great care package!

Dale Hollow Lake

This weekend we went to Dale Hollow Lake, TN!
Many of you know, that is where I went as a teen and then as a leader to Geigher Island!
It was great to go back as an adult and take Emery to the lake that gave me so many great memories. We went with J and Jac and their 2 boys and Jac's mom. What a blast we had tubing and trying to ski (Brian and Sharon-I don't know how you all still know how), I couldn't quite master it again after 12 years. J had a blast throwing me from the tube and Michael tubed for the first time and J learned how to ski for the first time.
We had a blast but we all realized we have 1 thing in common: We are old and out of shape! We are sore from head to toe and sunburned! Hope you enjoy the pictures. Emery enjoyed her first boat ride too!

My Sweet Emery is getting so big. I can't belive she is going to be 1 in September! Where has the time gone?
We are doing great. Just busy like everyone else!

Not much going on here. Just work and the usual.

I am tired! Haven't been feeling real good lately. A couple different issues.

Emery is doing great. Getting big. almost 16 lbs. and 24 inches. She has officially doubled in length. She is trying to crawl and babbles a lot. She is such a happy girl.

We had a great time with Grandee. It is always great to have her here. We miss her when she isn't.

We are sad we are going to miss cousin Lukey's b-day, but we love him very much and hope he enjoys his gift in the mail.

Lincoln County Fair

Now I am not one of those Pageant moms or anything, but the Baby Contest was fun. HOT but fun! She didn't win, but each of the participants got a little trophy! She was cute. There were about 30+ kids in her category. It was fun regardless!

Summer Fun

We are having a great summer! Grandee is here from TX for her Fourth of July visit. We picked her up on Sat. We are having a great time so far.

We have lots planned for the holiday. We are going to an annual cookout that our friends throw on Sat. and on Wed. we are going to the Lincoln County Fair where Mommy is going to enter Emmy in the baby contest! Grandee says she will win for sure!

Today we got a pool. So Daddy and Uncle J had fun putting that together! It has been filling for about 3 hours and only has 2 feet so far. Going to take a while.

We can't wait to get in and swim.

Go check out my sisters blog and see her new business venture. They are awesome! Soooo very cute. She is doing a craft show in the fall. Go check them out. I hear there is one with Emery's picture in the mail and I can't wait to wear it proud!

We wish that the rest of the family could have come with Grandee and we miss them.

Emery went to the NICU grad clinic the other day and is doing awesome.

They gave her lots of congative tests etc and she passed with flying colors. She is catching up in everything and just doing great. That also gave us a chance to see Mrs. Andrea! We love her so much! (She was the nurse who took care of Em in the NICU!)

I guess that is about it for now. I will post pics of the pool and baby contest as they come!

Father's Day Fun!

What a blast we had today. We spent the day with the Smith gang and went swimming in their new pool. This was Emery's first swim. Doesn't she look cute in her little bathing suit. She LOVED the water. She was like a little fish. She splashed and enjoyed the day. She also got a little pool of her own but of course as from day one, she was way to much of a big girl to swim in the "little" pool. She wanted in with all the rest of us. So daddy splashed with her for a while and then she came in the big pool with mommy. All in All it was a great day. Nothing beats a good ol summertime cookout!
Happy Father's Day to all the Daddy's and Soon to be Daddys!

Life is busy!

Well, since I have gone back to work, my blogging time is very little.

Things are going great. I have been truly blessed with a new job that is amazingly wonderful. I am back in the MHMR field and love it. This is my calling! Helping people and working in the field of mental disabilities! I am the Recruiting and Training Coord for our company.

It has taken me this whole time (almost 2 weeks) to get used to no nap in the afternoon. I think this should be a must at work.

Emery is doing great. She went to the babysitter's 1 day and caught what her daughter had, so she has been staying with my mom in law ever since! Hopefully with this medicine she will be on the mend though!

We had a great time in Dallas with our family and friends. We got to see a lot of people, but ran out of time to see you all. :(

Emery has grown so much. She is now 15 lbs and is rolling over and over and.....

She puts her feet in her mouth and grasps things and switches them from one hand to another.

She is truly a blessing. She is getting some hair too!

Well, I better moosy off to bed- morning comes early now!

Won't be long now!

Until our trip to Texas. I am sooo very excited. I was thinking the other day about the minute my sister see's us walk thru the little turn style into the baggage claim and she see's and holds Emery for the first time. What an amazing feeling this will be for her. I can't wait to squeeze my sweet Lukey too! He will probably in that sweet little voice say "NOOOOOO" like he does often when Heather asks him if he wants to talk to Aunt Brooke on the phone. It cracks me up everytime he does that, because I can see him running away from the phone and into his play room to get his toys! Although lately he has talked more and he talks so good. Such a big boy! Love that boy! Can't wait to see Grandee too. She isn't going to believe how big Em is.

We have so much planned for our trip already and several friends that we are going to get together with. This is going to be such a special time.

I am still waiting to get an official offer/start date from my job. I know that I got the job, they are just waiting to get all my paperwork back from the regional office. I should hear something today. God has blessed us so much. We never went without a paycheck this whole time I have been off, as I was able to receive unemployment because my company lost the contract. Isn't that amazing. God is good, ALL the time.

We have the March of Dimes Walk America tomorrow. This is the one that we have done all the fundraising for. So very excited to walk-although it is 5 miles. We have 12 people walking on our team. I made the cutest shirts (if I may say so myself) last night. Pink and Grey- for the guys.

Mothers Day is on Sun as you know. My first mothers day. I have such emotions about this. I have been soooo truly blessed by Emery. I think almost everyday how did I get so lucky that God chose ME-little ol ordinary ME to be HER mom! See, she is EXTRAORDINARY!

Happy Mothers Day mom and sis!

Mom thanks for being such a wonderfully terrific mom. I now know how hard it must have been and I truly thank you for your many years of sacrafice!

Heather thanks for being such a great role model of what a mother should be and being a fantastic mother to my Lukey and for bringing him into this world to make my life better!-after all it is all about me... hee hee.

UK NICU MARCH OF DIMES WALK

Today was the March Of Dimes Walk America for the UK Children's Hospital NICU! We had so much fun and got to see so many of our NICU friends. Andrea and Lauren were there and I even saw one of the nurses that took care of me at St. Joseph-the other hospital I was in before I transferred to UK! We walked 3 miles. We are very sore. Of course Emery isn't as she had the best seat in the house! :) Everyone couldn't believe how big Emery was and how great she looked. We visited, walked and ate and visited some more. It was great to see other babies there to who are older now and were in the NICU. It gave us hope. There were a set of twins there born at 23 weeks. AMAZING! It started out a little chilly in the morning, but once we got moving it warmed right up.
On another note, I had a job interview on Friday. It is a total God send and I am very excited about it. I have a 2nd on Monday. I really feel positive about it. It is working at the company that took over the facility that I was working at before I had Emery. It is a recruiter and training coord. Right up my alley and back in the field that I love. PRAISE GOD! He answers prayers, as I have been praying that if it is his will I can go back to Oakwood, but if not, provide something similar. I will keep you posted and in the meantime please pray that I get the job (as I have to go back to work financially) and that we find an inhome caregiver to watch Emery. I have a few possibilites-I know Aunt Heather wishes an awful lot it could be her. We love you Aunt Heather!
We can't wait for our trip to Texas. We are going to get to see so many people we haven't seen in a long time.
