Dr. Appt.

Please pray for Michael and I today as we go for our follow up Dr. Appt and ultrasound. This is the followup from last Tuesday's visit. We are going to see the new Dr. and pray also that he will be able to take me on as a new patient and follow thru to the delivery.

Please pray that everything is ok with the baby and growing normal (inside the uterus)!!!
Thanks for all of your prayers already! Keep them coming.

Baby Sleigh Crib

Well, my bargain shopping has rubbed off on my mother in law too!
She called me yesterday to let me know that her friend who owns a baby store got in the cutest crib and she went down to see it and thought it was cute. She wanted to know my thoughts on it as well. So I went down there not knowing what to expect. It is the cutest crib you have ever seen. It was a sleigh crib that coverts to the toddler bed then to a full size bed. ADORABLE!!!!
I couldn't believe it... and guess how much she wanted for it... $135.00! What a Bargain!!!!
So, we got it! I loved it and she had the cutest girl bedding with it that I bought as well (just in case-as many of you know I truly feel that I am having a BOY), but just in case, it looks very similar to the one that I picked out on the web that was close to $400, but I got it for $45!
I love, love, love to bargain shop! So, our baby is going to have the cutest bed for the fraction of the price. Also, my mom in law is picking up the tab on part of it as one of our presents! Love her!!
I showed you a picture of a similar one!

LONG AND HARD DAY

My day was one of the worst days that I have ever had. Here is the story:

I began spotting last night and called my OBGYN who was on call. She never called me back. I called again this morning as it was getting worse and not better, they wanted to see me right away. So Michael and I jumped in the car for my appt. at 10:45. We arrived at the Dr. and waited about 1 hr. in the waiting room-gee, wonder why they call it a WAITING room!!!, and finally they called us back. Since my pregancy is considered High Risk, they wanted to do an ultra sound. So, Dr. Karon performed an ultra sound, and said that she could see the heart beat, but that the pregancy did not look like a normal one to her.

She wanted us to step across to another room which had a better machine that had better clarity, so we did. She did another ultra sound, and said that no, the heartbeat was in fact just a faint pulse and that the baby was growing outside the uterus. She said that things were not right, and that I would need immediate surgery and to clear my schedule for the evening, that she would be doing it tonight. Because as many of you know, a baby can't live outside the uterus! You can imagine the horror. The feelings and emotions that flooded us. The heartbreak that we felt. She then says that she wants us to go across the street to see a High Risk OB to gain his opinion.

So we walked across the street to his office. I filled out all my paperwork and they could see that I was visibly shaken, so they put us in a "holding room" to fill out the paperwork. Michael and I prayed for our unborn child and gave the situation over to our almighty God. I went to use the restroom and upon my return noticed the picture that was hanging on the wall behind us the whole time, that we had failed to see. It was a print of a Dr. sitting at his desk with his medical book with a puzzled look on his face and then it had what was Jesus standing over his shoulder guiding him and showing him the answer. We saw this as encouragement!!!

Finally, they call us into the ultrasound room, and they begin to do yet another ultrasound. The Dr. who introduced himself as Barry, his first name, began to read the results. This is what he said: You have a fibroid cyst that has attached itself to your ovary, and you have fluid around your ovaries. It is still to early to pick up a baby on an ultrasound, and what Dr. Karon thought was your baby growing outside the uterus is simply a piece of tissue that is floating in the fluid. He says " I feel very optomistic about this, and want to see you back in a week to do another ultrasound!" Go home and get some rest! He was a wonderful Dr. I told him he was my new best friend, and asked him if he had already had lunch, because If not, I was buying.. ha ha.

He also took my HCG level again, and the results were over 1200, which is very positive!
So that was my day... one roller coaster emotion after another, from my baby being in jeopardy to things being ok.
Michael and I talked all the way home about faith and how you just have to have it. It is an absolute must! God is in control and that is a refreshing feeling!!!! Even the best, most accredited Dr. in the world still can't match God and the fact that he already knows the outcome!

Last but not least, hang in here with me, I know this is long.... We got home and Michael was working on the church website, he found a neat website that he added where you can search the Bible for any verse whether it is by reference # or by category... he was showing it to me and we typed in ... for all have sinned... and it pulled up the reference # and then he said, or you can pull things up by reference like (and he randomly picked) Luke 1:14 for instance.... and I will have you know what the verse was:
Thou shalt have joy and gladness and many shall rejoice at his birth! Luke 1:14
We have adopted this as our verse of choice... ha ha.

Although this day was not one that I want to ever live over again, I am glad that it happened, because it just proves that God is in control and we need to rely on his grace and mercy and his plan!

Exciting but scary

Yesterday was a great day at church. We are just loving our new church home. We had a new lady come to know that Lord that I had gotten to know at the Yard Sale. She has struggled with drugs, and a family that degrades her. But she doesn't want to hurt anymore and gave her life over to Jesus! Praise God! Vola (our pastor) asked me if I would share with her along with him and his wife. So we did and prayed with her. Now she is going to be baptized.

Church was good! It was about Hurricane Katrina, and had an outlook that I hadn't thought about really... That maybe part of the reason this all happened was to show us that possessions don't matter, PEOPLE matter! That it is not mother nature we need to worry about, it is human nature. Talking about all of the looting etc. that went on. That it doesn't matter a lick what you have, that those folks have not been saying, " Oh my goodness where is my big screen tv or what about my car", instead, they have been saying " What about my family and loved ones." I think this is a great reminder for all of us that weren't physically affected- possessions don't matter, PEOPLE matter!

Sunday night, Vola and Dave our associate pastor asked Michael and I (which they had approached us in the past) if we would seriously consider heading up our youth ministry. Mainly Jr and Sr. High. So, we prayed about it and feel that God has called us to show love to the kids. It is a bit scary of an undertaking at first, but these kids don't have a regular program, so I think we will see good response and growth. Please pray for us as we begin this endeavor!

Baby Excitement!

I just have to share how excited I am to be pregnant. Although I don't feel anything different except the fact that I am very tired and have to use the bathroom all the time, It amazes me to think that I have a baby growing inside me. How amazing and what a miracle. I read that it is the size of a raisin right now. That amazes me to think that it will one day be a big child and right now it is only as big as a raisin.
My eating habits have changed drastically (Heather you would be proud), and all I drink is water. I will allow myself 1 diet coke a week. I just want my little baby to be as healthy as possible. It does completely change my thinking on nutrition because I know that I am providing it for not only me, but for my child.
What a fun time in life. I can't wait until he/she gets here. I can't wait to love on him/her. To show Lukey what his new cousin looks like. For our families to welcome a new addition. God is so good.

2 Pink Lines makes it official

Well, 2 pink lines makes it official.......we are having a baby! We are so very excited!
It didn't take us very long either! Thank God!
We just found out yesterday! I took 2 tests and they both had 2 pink lines although 1 was very faint on both! I went to the Dr. and they did the blood test and it is OFFICIAL!
God is so good!

~ ~ ~ IMMEDIATE PRAYERS NEEDED ~ ~ ~

If I come to you anytime for prayers, it is now!
Michael's first cousin Chris has a daughter named Brittany. She is in 7th grade and lives here in Richmond, KY. On Sat. her and her friend were at the local Walmart, and they have not been seen or heard from since. Upon review of the security cameras, it shows them getting into the car with 2 hispanic men.
I pray that God would bring them home safely. That he would ease their fear and keep them unharmed. Give them the wisdom to know what to do in that situation. Provide a way out, a phone, a stranger to come along who can help, a gas station to be able to flee to, ANYTHING!
I cannot imagine!
Thanks so much for your prayers.

Lots and Lots of $$$

Well, it's official~ our Yard and Bake Sale was a HUGE success!!!
We managed to make $1200!!
We made $350 in the first 30 minutes!
These people out here are yard sale fools!
We had so much help and I couldn't have done it without everyone!!
Thanks Cindy for baking all that you baked and driving all the way from the Ville to help us! (And for the Krispy Kreme's)

I am very excited, as my goal was $1000 and I even exceeded that. We had a lot of fun in the process and I got to really meet and fellowship with ladies from our new church. I didn't realize when I started this process how much of a blessing it was going to be on me as well, but it truly ministered to me too.

Hot ~Tired ~ Worn Out ~

Ok folks here was my night:

Loaded 1 truck load full of stuff for the yard sale.
Went over to my mother in laws and added to it! It was piled up!!!
Went up to the church and mind you I had been praying that we would have stuff for our sale....boy do we have stuff!!!

People started to come as soon as the doors opened! And they just kept coming. One guy dropped off one truck load and then went home and got another. We have truck loads galore! 2 huge racks of clothes and about 8 tables stacked 2-3 feet high with clothes!
Books, toys, housewares, baby stuff, furniture anything and everything you can imagine.
We worked for 5 hours with only a 30 minute break.

Then we thought that we were done- my neigbor said that she had some stuff and I told her that I would get it when we got back, so we pulled in at 11:15 pm and loaded another truck load! It is now 12:03 am and we have to get up at 6:00 am to be at the church at 7:00!
WOW what a day!!! I am so blessed and thankful! We had 3 ladies in particular and mom and I that stayed and worked!
I am sooooooooooo excited to see what tomorrow brings! This experience has been so rewarding!
MY GOAL IS TO RAISE $1000 AT OUR SALE TOMORROW! I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED!

KATRINA YARD SALE HAS TAKEN OVER

Our house has become a dumping ground for the Yard sale we are having tomorrow! We have a ton of stuff that has been donated to us, and we got all of our signs out! We put 2 up at the new Walmart and saturated the city! I bet people are going to come, just to see what all the hoopla is about. I have never seen so much flouresant poster board in my life!
Mom is busy baking little pumpkin loaves and her famous Buttermilk cake for the bake sale too!
I pray that a lot of folks come and buy all of our stuff! Please pray for that!

THE DUKE BOYS

Aren't Beau Beau and Lukey Cutie Pies!
LOTS OF UPDATED NEWS!!!

I just found out from our GM at work that we have 600 G&K employees that we have not heard from that lived and worked in New Orleans. I pray for them.

Angela and Mike sold their house for sure! Praise God. Pray that Mike finds a new job and that they find an apt. to live in for the next 6 months.

James is still waiting to hear from the Thunderbirds to decide if he is going to take the job, but in the meantime he was given a promotion and assigned to be over 250+ people and $16million dollars worth of aircraft engines for 7 different kinds of planes. In military terms-that is a huge deal.

Hmmm... lets see what else.... I got all of the signs made for my yard sale on Sat. I just have to put them around town. My Tex gone KY friend Cindy offered to help.. THANKS Cindy... and I am praying that it is going to be a huge sale!

Gas prices are lowering $2.85 a gallon. Only cost me $42 to fill up today.. ha ha

New Prayer Requests: our niece Alexis has a friend Chase who is 4 and he has a sister who has a brain tumor that they just found. She is only 10 mths. old. Please pray for them
A lady I work with, her daughter just had a baby and she has preclampsia so they had to take the baby early and it only weighed 2 lbs 12 ozs. The mom was released, but the baby has to stay in the hospital. The drive one way is an hour for them to get to the hospital. Logan did gain an ounce yesterday, so that was good. Pray for that situation.

I think that is about it for now! Sorry Amber it took me so long to update... ha ha!

SILLY AND SLEEPY IN KENTUCKY

WHAT A LAZY DAY! WE HAVE BEEN NAPPING AND JUST BEING SILLY! HERE ARE A FEW PICS. THAT WILL SHOW YA!

IT'S GREAT TO BE OFF WORK!

It is another great day in KY! Although the UK Wildcats lost to Louisville yesterday!
Mom is here visiting for the week. We always have a special time visiting together.

Today we are going to put out signs that we made for our Benefit yard sale and bake sale.
I am praying daily that we have a lot of folks that show up to buy stuff. I would love to raise a good amount to give to the Red Cross. Yesterday at church our pastor announced that we are going to offer our church to take in some of the refugees. We are so very excited about that!
Several families opened there homes to house more of them too!

Not much else to blog today. Hope my Texas family and friends have a great Labor Day. Spend time together and love each other!

THIS IS THE DAY THAT THE LORD HAS MADE
LET US REJOICE AND BE GLAD

I went to let Mandie (our lab) out this morning and was greated by such a beautiful morning. Kentucky is so wonderful this time of year. It is trying to become fall, but still holding on to a few last summer days. Everything is so green and fragrant and the nights and mornings are cool.
I am so thankful to live in such a wonderful place.

Hurricane Katrina is still on my mind heavily. I am speaking in church this morning about our Bake and Yard sale that I am coordinating (we are donating ALL the procceeds to the Red Cross). I am going to read part of what my sister wrote- by the way Heather, you should think of using your talent!!! I pray that we have lots of volunteers and that God brings an overabundance of things for the sale. I pray that people will come from all over to check it out, and in return will find the Love of God! I am so thankful to live in a country where we can freely have sales like these to help others and don't have to get our governments permission.
Praise God for the country that we live in!
