BRRRRRRRRRR It's Cold!!

Winter is officially here!

Well, tomorrow is Turkey Day! I love Turkey Day! All the yummy food and just relaxing with no agenda-doesn't get any better than that!

We are going to Mary's (my mom-in-law) for lunch and then Brian and Eileen's for Dinner. How did I scam out of cooking????

I hope that each of you enjoy your holiday, and those of us away from our other families this holiday-Love and Kisses your way!

Exciting Sunday

What a wonderful day we had yesterday!

We went to church yesterday morning and had such a great service. Our pastoral staff is phenominal. We announced our upcoming bowling and pizza night for this coming Sat. , but got very little response which was somewhat discouraging. Then we were asked if the youth could decorate the CHRISTmas tree this year. So we are going to do that before we go bowling.

Along came Sunday night!!!!
It was the annual Thanksgiving Potluck and worship service. WE GRUBBED!!!!! Such yummy vittles! Vola our pastor, asked several people if they would come up and give a Thanksgiving testimony, and of course he asked Michael and I. So we shared what we were thankful for this year etc. Many others shared as well and it was special to hear how God has been working in our church. Now here comes the most exciting part!

We announced our Snow Tubing trip that we planned for the kids. WHAT A RESPONSE!
Many of you know that our youth group has been VERY slow going getting started.
We had 2 sign up. A boy and his sister. Now this isn't just any boy, this is a boy that Vola told us about who comes pretty faithfully to church, but his grandparents told him that he isn't a Christian. How exciting! This is a huge step for this kid, and I am so excited that he is going to go. He also goes to the same Highschool that Michael went to and plays the drums in the band, like Michael did. So that is something that they have in common.
I just know that God is going to use Michael in this boys life and many others too!
Several kids have asked if Michael would be willing to give them drum lessons and just show them the basic techniques. So Michael told them he would start that up!

God is working in our lives in many incredible ways. I am so thankful for our church. It has been such a ministry to us in just the few short months we have gone there.
Please lift our youth ministry up in your prayers. Pray for Michael and I as we take this on. Pray for the kids and that we can spark an interest in them to come. Pray for preperation of their hearts.

God is good, ALL the time.
This thanksgiving I am thankful for God's faithfulness!!

The last few days

Hey there family and friends.
Things here in KY are good. I am recovering slowly but surely from my surgery and looking forward to feeling better and better each day.
I go see the Orthopedic Dr. on Friday for my ankle/foot, so wish me luck there and pray to God that he does not say the word surgery!
I have had my fill of surgery's to last a lifetime.

We had a nice visit with Heather and Lukey. He was a little out of his element and it was hard on him, but I sure enjoyed him being here! My oh My how he has grown. Like a little weed. What a big boy!! It was good to spend time with Heather as well. We had good sister time together!
Mom will be here until Sunday a.m. and we are enjoying each other's company as well. It was good to have the family together, but wasn't the same without Jason.

It is growing cold here and we had some severe thunderstorms last night and even a tornado in Western KY, but it didn't effect us. Now it is just cold and they are predicting some snow flurries!

Well, I guess that is about all that I know for now. Had to do a quick update for ya.

Surgery update

PRAISE GOD!
Thank you so much for all of your prayers. I truly believe in the power of prayer. I certainly always have, but it seems that it has been more evident in my life lately!
My surgery went great. Dr. Karon cleared out all the endimetriosis and also the tumor that I had in there. She also released an adheasion that was on my colon and was sticking to the uterus.
I came out of anistesia a lot better this time and it was not bad at all this time.
I am feeling so much better than the last time. I prayed that God would allow this one to be better so that I could enjoy my family being here and not have to lay in bed the whole time and he certainly answered my prayers!

Thank you to everyone who prayed for me. Thanks to Mary for being here for me again and for all that you do for us. Thanks to Mom, Heather and Winkerbean for coming to visit aunt Brooke! Thanks to Eileen and Brian for coming for a vist. Thanks to Matthew and Vola for being there too. Cindy, thanks for offering to pick up my family at the airport. Annie, thanks again for providing for them to be here. Angela, thanks for your sweet card the other day.

Finally... an update

Hi, it's me.
I know it has been a while.
I am exhausted, but the blog Nazi sent me a warning, so I had no other choice but to update!
One more day of work and then I am off for a week. Wish it was for vacation!
I am very excited to see my family on saturday! I am very nervous however about my upcoming surgery. I am afraid of going thru the pain again! Uggghhh!
Well, sorry folks but it is going to have to be short and sweet tonight!
I am off to ice my foot and put it up.
I had my MRI yesterday and will know the results in probably a week, but in the meantime my foot is getting worse!
Please continue to pray for our friend Jim. The visitation is on Fri. and the funeral is Sat. Pray for Michael too to have strength for Jim.
Will update more later on!

Prayer

Well, there goes another weekend. Man do they go by too fast.
Monday here we come! 2 weeks without seeing my boss. He is out of town this week and then I will be off the whole week after that. YIPPEEEEEEEE !!!!! 2 weeks without seeing him is like Chirstmas and my birthday all wrapped up in one!

Please pray for our friend Jimmy. Many of you may remember him from our wedding. His mom and dad were in Hawaii celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and his dad died. They think that he had a heart attack. So they have to transport him here back to Kentucky. Please pray that the funeral does not fall at the same time of my surgery, because we want Michael to be able to go to the funeral to support his friend. I know that God already knows the future and is in control of it.

Please pray also for my MRI on Tues. and my surgery on Fri. Also pray for a safe trip for Mom, Heather and Lukey. Pray that traveling with Lukey will not be difficult, and that everything will fall into place! Thanks again Annie for providing a way for them to be here!

A Week in Review

OK, OK, GEEZ LADIES CAN'T A GIRL BE TOO BUSY TO BLOG EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE... HA HA!

What a week! First off, I finally I am blonde again. I got my hair cut and colored. And my eyebrows waxed. Sure makes a girl feel better!!!

I go for an MRI on my ankle on Tuesday and then go to an orthopedic surgeon 1 week after my other surgery. What an inconvenience! My friend loaned me one of those boots that they give you when you break your ankle, so it has been so much better. Although, I feel like I am doing more harm than good to it.

I am having my suregery next Friday. Mom and Heather and Lukey will be here next Sat. I am so very excited to spend time with them. I will probably be flying high from the pain meds, but we will have a good time!

I got into an altercation with my boss today at work. He started my morning off by screaming at me at the top of his lungs for something he didnt even know the whole situation. So I called his boss and reported him! I am not taking anymore crap off of him!!! Something has to be done with him.

I need a vacation!

Michael and I are cracking down in the month of November with our spending habits. We have commited to not eating out lunch or dinner at all and not spending any $ that is not a must. It has been hard considering that we used to eat out everyday for lunch, but I know that we are going to save a lot of $$$$$$$$$$ !!!!!

Michael is going fishing tomorrow with some people from church. He is so excited. He loves, loves, loves to fish. I am glad we have made new friends at church that we can do stuff with! What a blessing.

This weekend will be low key. I am going to spend tomorrow sewing! I am on a sewing kick. I am working on Christmas stuff! You will just have to wait and see what it is next month!

Latest Updates and Random Blogging...

Finally, some updates for ya:

Well, we had our 1st Youth group event for the kids at church and only 1 showed up. We had more leaders there than kids. But we are not going to get discouraged, I think it is going to take a while. We will just continue on!

I went to the Dr. Today for my ankle and she was not happy with the fact that it is not healing...AT ALL. She said that she wants me to use an air cast and come back on Friday if it is not better for an MRI! She did say that it IS NOT broken!

Tonight we passed out candy to the trick or treaters...We were just going to shut the porch light off and not pass it out, (that is terrible huh) but I saw the cute little kids on my way home already out and about, and stopped to get candy... I couldn't pass it up!

I am having surgery in 11 days. I am afraid of going thru the pain all over again. This one is supposed to be much harder than the 1st one physically, but the good and positive thing about this second surgery is that I won't feel all the emotionally crippling feelings with this one. I know that this surgery is positive and will help us for the future to have a sweet little baby!!!
I am excited that Mom, Heather and Lukey are going to be here!
I am just ready to have all of this behind me so we can start trying again. A part of me feels like it has been a lifetime ago, but then a part of me feels like it was just yesterday. I pray that no one ever has to go thru this!

Michael and I were talking about how we need a weekend away. We started looking at the calendar, and the 1st weekend we would be able to do it is New Years... Isn't that sad. 2 Months away. We are so swamped.

I can't wait to see all the pictures of my sweet GungGhu And all the candy he scored at the church fest! Isn't he just the cutest little thing ever!

I posted a few pictures that we got from the Round UP at church. Aren't they cute. And yes I know that my hair needs coloring, I am taking care of it this week and yes, I have gained some weight too. I sure am glad that family and friends love you anyway!!!
I love the one of me and my buddy Jackson. He is my sweet little friend from church. He loves Michaels drums. Michael gave him a pair of his drum sticks and he carry's them everywhere. He and his brother are the sweetest little boys!

Work is going good. I have several big deals in the works, so that makes things better and keeps your boss off your back for a while. I pray for him, he is such a sad little man. Completely wrapped up in $ and material possessions. If only he knew that money and things do not by happiness and when the novelty wears off on something new, you just have to get something else because the newness has worn off and you are not happy anymore. What a sad way to live. I would rather live in a cardboard box with my husband and have the happy life that I have, than to live in a $350,000 house and be miserable. I guess all we can do is pray for those types of people.

Well, I guess that I have rambled on long enough! Hope your week is a good one!!!

Life's most embarrasing moments....

Well, I have had one of life's most embarrasing moments. It happened yesterday. I was at a potential clients (a Nissan Dealership) and the gentleman that I had the appointment with got called into a last minute meeting with some "big wigs" from Nissan. So the service advisor that I was talking to took my card and I told him I would call him back next week to reschedule. So I be bop off to get in my car, and the next thing I know, I am laying on the ground~!

Yes, it has happened once again, my not so trusty ol ankle that I have severly sprained 2 other times fails me once more. I fell all the way down to the ground and my notebook and keys go flying everywhere. You say, well that is not really that embarrasing....well, no, it is what follows that I wish I could just forget.

The meeting must have ended, because what I am assuming are the 2 Nissan Big Dogs see me fall and come running over to render aide! "Oh my gosh maam are you ok" "Can we help you up"? I am trying to fight back tears at this point trying to keep my composure..(I know, why bother at this point, right!) So the service advisor has seen all of this take place too and comes a runnin.. the one man mentions that I must have fallen on the rock that was right by where I fell.

So they help me into the show room, and my ankle at this point looks like an almost ripe pear.
When I fell, I scraped my knee on my other leg, so they send over a lady to patch that up for me... so by this time 5 people are gathered around and probably hoping at this point that I am not going to OWN the dealership.. ha ha. The gentleman that I had the meeting with heard about me too, and came out to make sure I was ok.

I went and had it X-Rayed and they put a partial cast on it and told me to put on weight on it and come back Monday for another X-Ray.

Now that is one of lifes most embarrasing moments.

CUTE COWBOY AND GIRL

What a cute little cowboy. We sure had fun at the Fall Roundup on Sat. We had 53 kids that came. They rode horses, did crafts and had Bible Time. Michael and I helped with the horses and took pictures of the kids. We really enjoyed it!

TGIF

Thank God for Fridays!!! It means the end of the work week and me that is good!
What a week. Between driving close to 600 miles this week, my day ended with my boss blowing off my 3 pm meeting with him for his meeting with his personal tailor that comes in to fit him with his clothes... uggghhh... who does he think he is..the president!!!!

Tonight be went to the show at Renfro Valley which was really neat. It is a country music place, and they have all different musical numbers. Our Pastor and his wife invited us and after that we went out for pizza.

Tomorrow we have the Fall Roundup at church. It is kind of an alternative to halloween but it will have pumpkin painting, arts and crafts, pony rides and chili dogs... a time for us to share about Jesus. Pray the rain holds off!

Trying to think what else is going on.....
I am looking forward to my fam coming down for my next surgery. I cannot wait. I miss them!!
Well, I guess that is about it for now. I am so exhausted and am going to turn in for the night.

Crazy Busy Weekends....gotta love them!!

What a whirl wind of a weekend!
Friday night we went to the football game of Joey, he is one of the kids in our youth group. They won 21-7 and oddly enough they are the LCHS Patriots (Lincoln County)... just like my high school (Lakeview Centennial)...so that was kinda cool cheering for the Patriots again!
Saturday we had a wedding to go to.. Michael and his brother Matthew shot the pictures for the wedding...then Michael had to play (drums) that evening.

Sunday we went to church, went out to lunch and came home. We were both resting for our afternoon Sunday nap, when Dave called. Dave is the Associate Pastor and Music Minister at our church. He asked Michael if he would be interested in doing special music that night, that the person doing it backed out. Now keep in mind that although Michael is a music major and was a band director for a short time, he hasnt picked up an instrument (other than the drums) in probably 10 plus years. SoMichael proceeds to tell him that, then says "Well, I bet you that Brooke would love to sing". Gotta love him!!!!!
So, we found a song in about 10 minutes and headed up to the church to practice for the hour we had until church started. I made Dave sing with me and I must say it didn't turn out too bad!

In other news, I am very excited that Mom, Heather and Lukey get to come visit me for my next surgery! Thanks so much to my sweet, dear friend Annie who made it possible. I love you!!
We will have so much fun visiting. Lukey hasnt been here when it has been cold, so he will get to see what a Kentucky fall is like.

Please continue to pray for Michael and I. My hormones are still all out of whack and between my mood swings and crying at the drop of a hat, I am sure it is frustrating for him... although as sweet as he is, he would never say so. I am still having a difficult time with loosing the baby, and am working thru the grieving process.

Are You Ready For Some Football??

Well, tonight we are going to one of our highschool kids football games. He is the Kicker for Lincoln County High. It is going to be great because it is cold out today, so it is perfect football weather.
Michael and I are very excited to start working with the youth group. Please pray for us that we will be good leaders and role models to them. Pray for our time that we have to give and that God would bring us great ideas to do with them... ANY SUGGESTIONS ARE CERTAINLY WELCOME!!!
They have no group right now, so we are starting from the bottom and working our way up.

I am also so excited about my new Bible Study. It started on Wed. It is the newest of the Beth Moore series...The Patriarchs! Beth Moore is so wonderful. I am very, very excited to see how it is going to be in the up and coming weeks. I suggest anyone to get involved in her study.

Well, that is about it for now. I go back to the Dr. on the 25th for a followup and then will have another procedure done 2 weeks after that. Please pray for my mental frame of mind. This has been a very difficult thing to go thru and I am trying to work thru it.

BACK TO THE LAND OF THE LIVING

Well, it has been a long and hard road, and I am still not fully recovered, but I am getting stronger each day.
I am thoroughly convinced that we have been able to get to this point ONLY with the prayers that have been lifted up on our behalf. We have people praying everywhere and I am so grateful for that. God is good ALL the time and even though we do not understand hardships that we go thru, I know that HE is in control and HE knows the plans and our future.
I have seen first hand now more than ever, that life can drastically change in just a matter of minutes, and things can happen that are unexpected. I have also seen that no matter what FAITH is what it is all about! Without FAITH-there is nothing!!!
Thank you to all the people who have helped me thru this "journey". Please keep praying that my body continues to heal properly, that Michael can get rest and strength as he cares for me, and that we will continue to draw close to God in our time of sadness.
