One of the reasons I love Lukey so much.....

WE THINK ALIKE!!!!
Things have been so busy! Work keeps me hoppin! I love my new job. There are not many jobs where you can actually make a difference in someone's life everyday you go to work.
I love the facility that I work at and the people that live there I have grown attached to a few just in the short time that I have been there.
One in particular named Tim. If you have ever seen the movie Radio... that is him all over again!
He is legally blind and also has mental retardation. He is my buddy. He comes into my office and asks if he can play his CD on my computer. His favorite is The Bee Gees. #13 is his favorite which is Staying Alive. I haven't see him around at all this week, but he makes you smile when he does come around. I am so blessed to have found a job that I love so much. Thank you Lord for your blessings! I can't believe that I worked for Al Durso for so long. What was I thinking.

I have been "sick" lately. I have a cronic cough that has now moved down into my chest. I finally got some antibiotic and I am hoping it will rid me of having to cough every 5 seconds or so!

My purse business has taken off. The ladies at Oakwood continue to gobble them up. I am making UK (University of Kentucky) purses and they love them... you know people do "Bleed Blue" around here! I am so fortunate to have this one lady who bought one and has spread the word. She calls me everyday with new orders. I am really not even having to do hard core selling of them. The orders just come. It is nice to have some extra $$$ !

It is supposed to be spring here, but the weather is so crappy here. Rain/snow and cold! Bring on the real Spring!!!

Church is going good. We are trying out a new worship leader as we lost ours to Pastor another church full time. We are anxiously awaiting how God is going to yet again bless our church!
Our Youth group is slow going. Our kids are all about the fun stuff, but worshiping the Lord and Bible Study gives them short attention spans. But as my good buddy Judy says, just meet them where they are! So that is what we contine to do.

What a week!

Well, it has been a while and I am sorry for that! Glad to be back in the world of bloggers!
I started my new job this past Tues.
God is so good and his mercy is everlasting!
He has blessed me with such a wonderful job. I am working in H.R. for a place called Oakwood.
Oakwood is a facility for folks with mental retardation and other mental issues.
I am so fortunate to be able to have gotten on there in H.R. I love, love, love it!
Thank you God for this wonderful job!

Well, as many of you know, it is Girl Scout Cookie time. This brings great enjoyment to our home. I love the once a year that I get to get Thin Mints.
Well, this year it meant something else for our household. It meant that Mandie (our Lab) has found a new love of the Peanut Butter Patties. I came home from lunch with a friend last week, and she had pulled the box off the counter and ate 14 of them.
I called the vet and them told me to rush her in. So we went to the vet where they proceeded to induce her vomiting and when that didn't work, they had to go in and pump her stomach! Poor girl. She was having a hard time. But now she is doing good. Silly little girl scout!

Spring is beginning to creep in on us. Our pear tree is starting to bloom and it will be in full bloom soon. It is rainy season here in the end of March and April, so let the fun begin.
I love spring time in the Bluegrass. It is my favorite time of year. I cannot believe it is going to be 4 years that I have lived in Kentucky. My life has been so richly blessed since I moved here. I know that people thought I was super crazy when I packed up and left, but now seeing how life has turned out for me here I think they would agree that God has a purpose for everything and knows the plans that he has for us!

Well, I guess that is about all for now. I promise to try to be better about blogging!

I need to ask prayer for my Montana family!
I talked to my Aunt Ennie this evening and she informed me that my cousin Ty who has Prader-Willi Syndrome- now has cancer. Bless his little heart. He has already beat the odds by living as long as he has (he is close to 40 years old) and now this.
Please pray that God will be seen thru all of this as I am unsure about their salvation.
Pray for my aunt Ennie, my cousins Ty and Tanner and my uncle Bob.
Ennie has some very tough decisions ahead of her regarding his well being and doesn't feel that chemo and radiation are going to be an option as his body and mind would not withstand it.
This is such a very sad situation! Thanks for your prayers!

Snow, Snow and more snow

It has been snowing here in the bluegrass for 2 days!
It started yesterday about the time that we were leaving for the lock-in, and continued all thru the night and all day today! I love it. I love the sight, I love the sound, I love the texture of it! I LOVE SNOW!!!!! It is so not what I am used to being born and raised in the Lone Star State!

Our lock in was great! We had 20 kids from both churches and had a great time! We fed them, gave them tons of caffeine and took them bowling!! Then we crashed for the night at JC Powerhouse-a place that some peeps from our church converted into a Christian hangout for kids.
All of the leaders are dog tired today as we got NOOOOO sleep at all! I sleep literally all day today!
Hope you all are having a good weekend so far. For those of you in Texas-enjoy the snow pictures!

We got cows!!!!!

Well, I am winding down my trip in Dallas and will be leaving tomorrow morning headed back to KY. I talked to Michael this morning where he filled me in on all the things I have missed:
Friday night our dog Mandie starts going crazy at 4:30 AM... running and howling around the house-something that she never does. Michael got up to find out what the whoopla was about, and right in front of our house a car ran off the road and over into the ditch. Michael said the car was completely crushed... he is not sure about the driver?
Then, we got 4 inches of snow...he says my car is completely covered...can't even see it!
Wow, from Dallas 70's to 4 inches of snow!!!
The biggest thing was this morning as Michael was getting ready for church. We have a huge field and barn across the main road from our house. He got out of the shower and was getting ready when he heard a very loud MOOOOOOO. He didn't think anything of it, being that we hear them sometimes... He brushed his teeth and again heard MOOOOOOOOO. He said that it sounded like it was on our back porch. So he looked out side and low and behold...He said there were between 30-50 cows in the back yard. All over the place. Running in the field, in our yard, the neighbors yard and all in the culdisac subdivision in our neighborhood. I so wish that I would have been there to see that!
I have had such a great time hanging out this week with my family and friends. What a true blessing it is to be able to spend time with the ones we love!
I miss Michael and will be excited to see him!
Please pray for little Lukey... He has an ear infection and is not feeling good at all!

CHEER BAGS

Here is my newest idea to make $!
I am making purses, as I told you in my previous blog-but I got an idea to make bags/totes. I made this one to hopefully sell to a couple of cheer moms at the Highschool for their daughters. Let me know what you think!

I am enjoying my time at home. I am passing the time away with purse making. My friend Jacqueline is going to sell them at her school for me. Thanks Girlie!!!!
I will try to take some pics. of them and post them so you can see my handy work!

Well, that is about it for now.. boring I know!

Friday, January 20, 2006

Well, here another week has come and gone.
My latest news is that I am no longer working, and waiting to hear from my "dream job" interview on Monday.

I am hoping to slip in a trip to Dallas for at least a week or so to visit.

I am truly amazed at how God is in control and proves himself to me daily! What a wonderful God we serve!!!

No other big news here! Talk to you later!

Osama's latest words:

My message to you is about the war in Iraq and Afghanistan and the way to end it.
I had not intended to speak to you about this issue, because, for us, this issue is already decided: diamonds cut diamonds.
Praise be to God, our conditions are always improving, becoming better, while yours are the opposite.

However, what prompted me to speak are the repeated fallacies of your President Bush in his comment on the outcome of US opinion polls, which indicated that the overwhelming majority of you want the withdrawal of the forces from Iraq, but he objected to this desire and said that the withdrawal of troops would send the wrong message to the enemy.
Bush said: It is better to fight them on their ground than they fighting us on our ground.
In my response to these fallacies, I say: The war in Iraq is raging and operations in Afghanistan are on the rise in our favour, praise be to God.

The Pentagon figures indicate the rise in the number of your dead and wounded, let alone the huge material losses.
To go back to where I started, I say that the results of the poll satisfy sane people and that Bush's objection to them is false.
Reality testifies that the war against America and its allies has not remained confined to Iraq, as he claims.

In fact, Iraq has become a point of attraction and recruitment of qualified resources.
On the other hand, the mujahideen, praise be to God, have managed to breach all the security measures adopted by the unjust nations of the coalition time and again.
The evidence for this are the bombings you have seen in the capitals of the most important European countries of this aggressive coalition.

As for the delay in carrying out similar operations in America, this was not due to the failure to breach your security measures.
Operations are in preparation and you will see them on your own ground once the preparations are finished, God willing.
Based on the above, we see that Bush's argument is false.
However, the argument that he avoided, which is the substance of the results of opinion polls on withdrawing the troops, is that it is better not to fight the Muslims on their land and for them not to fight us on our land.
We do not object to a long-term truce with you on the basis of fair conditions that we respect.
We are a nation to which God has disallowed treachery and lying.
In this truce, both parties will enjoy security and stability and we will build Iraq and Afghanistan which were destroyed by the war.
There is no defect in this solution other than preventing the flow of hundreds of billions to the influential people and war merchants in America, who supported Bush's election campaign with billions of dollars.

Road Trip

Well, we haven't had a road trip in a long time, but we took one last night!
Our friends J and Jaqueline sold his truck to a man in Indiana, so we decided to ride along and follow the men as they set out to deliver it. We first made a pit stop for some dinner in Louisville. They have a new Cheesecake Factory, so I introduced it to all of them. They LOVED it! Finally we made it to Terre Haute, IN and checked in for the night.
The guys got up early Sat. morning to deliver the truck, then it was breakfast at IHOP!!! Love, Love, Love IHOP! Haven't been there since Dallas, and years at that!

We had a great time. I love road trips. Good way to get your mind off job crap!

Update on my job crap:
I had a 3rd and final interview on Thursday. The final decision will be made next Mon. the decision maker will be out of town all next week! Torture yes, but I am so sick of worrying about it, that I am not going to anymore! Whatever happens....happens!

Happy Birthday to Eileen!
Old woman!

I woke up this morning with a new sense of refreshment. I am not nervous or worried at all about my job situation. I have my interview here in a few hours and am going to meet a girlfriend for lunch! I feel very confident about things and know that it is all in God's timing and plans. I will let you know how it goes! Thanks for your many prayers!!!
